Enable Futures are operating as an employment business on behalf of its client and recruiting for a Senior Category Executive to join a global FMCG organisation! With the Head Office based in North Somerset, Near Axbridge!

The working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00PM (flexible). The annual salary is £45,000 - £55,000 PA. The package includes: Company Car, 25 Days Annual Leave, Company Pension, Onsite Parking, Wellness Scheme & Flexible Working.

The role will involve working with the global team, with the UK market being the individual focus, share best practise between markets, and identify synergy in NPD projects from various markets. Drive the brand performance alongside the Commercial Director. Provide data driven insights to strategically steer the category agenda, conduct annual planning with quarterly and monthly forecast review, build 12 months rolling NPD pipeline, manage product end to end costing and ensure effective bottom line delivery. You will also act as the account manager for the UK to deliver a satisfactory customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

·       New product development and rolling 12 months’ NPD calendar (25%)

  • Conduct market and competitor audit to identify gaps/opportunities for NPD activities.
  • Develop comprehensive brief for the development team.
  • Responsible for product pricing and cost/margin approval.
  • Working with key stakeholders to develop rolling 12 months’ NPD calendar across all categories.

·      Insight & Intelligence (30%)

  • Regular market review to monitor sector growth/change as well as competitor activities (NPD, promotions, new concept, etc.).
  • Obtain insights from the supplier network, then select, refine, and distil the relevant information to develop strategic recommendation.
  • Manage one direct report and Lead Business Intelligence agenda, including:
  • Regular product/range performance review.
  • Detailed waste tracking and analysis.
  • Planogram efficiency analysis.
  • Post launch/promotion performance/profitability review.
  • Granular performance deep dive (by site/format/cluster review).

·      Margin & Revenue Growth Management (25%)

  • Custodian of product end to end costing to ensure various income targets are met.
  • Work closely with procurement team to maximize profitability.
  • Drive revenue growth using various levers, such as promotion planning, pricing review, range sizing and tiering, and availability improvement.

·      Marketing Communications (10%)

  • Manage all product/range related communication with sites across the UK.
  • Manage and deliver all in store Point of Sales with the support from field team co-ordinator.
  • Support marketing campaign development as well as Packaging Change projects.
  • Deliver product/process/promotional/PR videos.

·      Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)

  • Deliver category projects with the support from various internal teams.
  • Manage the relationship with internal teams as well as external stakeholders.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

FMCG brand and/or innovation experience at a managerial level.

Food & Retail industry experience would be an advantage.

P&L management experience.

Experience in managing complicated data set.

Familiar with retail intelligence agencies (e.g. IGD, KANTAR, CMA, etc.).

People management experience preferred.

Educated to a university level standard.

Full driving license.

Master level in Marketing, Management or Business Administration.

PMP, Prince II, or Agile qualification preferred.

CIM or CMI status preferred.
