We are hiring an ambitious & experienced Commercial Property Lawyer specialising in land development! You would be joining one of the fastest growing high street law firms in the South West!

Enable Futures are operating as an employment business on behalf of its client for a Remote Development & Commercial Property Lawyer with the office based in either Shepton Mallet or Knowle, BS4,Bristol. Joining a modern paperless team going through an exciting time of growth!

Following the growth of the business they are now looking to recruit a Development & Commercial Property Lawyer who can continue to grow the New Build and Commercial business!

The working hours are 9.00am–5.00pm Monday-Friday (hour lunch). The annual salary is Circa £45,000 - £65,000 PA DOE. The role is offered remote working 90% from home, with the office is in Shepton Mallet or Knowle, BS4 Bristol to work from 10% of the time.  

The successful applicant will have experience in land acquisition options, promotion and development agreements, contracts, due diligence, finance matters, joint ventures and development agreements as well as being experienced in land assembly and site set up for plot sales. The ideal candidate will be ambitious to grow the department with experience of managing a team and working collaboratively with the head of department as well as on your own to business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Land acquisition: options, promotion and development agreements, contracts, due diligence, finance matters.
  • Work on joint venture and collaboration agreements.
  • Mange the site set up for plot sales.
  • Manage basic commercial property requirements, e.g., Landlord and Tenant, leasehold assignments, sales, and purchases.
  • Act as a team leader for future junior members of the team.
  • Teach, guide, and improve junior members of the team to develop their skills and experience, thus shaping the future of the company.
  • Business develop with the Head of Commercial as well as working autonomously so grow the development side of the new build team.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

  • Good knowledge of planning issues.
  • Understanding of the newbuild conveyancing system: plot sales and purchasing.
  • Land assembly.
  • Be confident in financing and re-financing.
  • Good understanding of workflows and precedent systems to improve and design workflow.
