Enable Futures are operating as an employment business on behalf of its client for a Litigation Assistant / Fee Earner to work in Street, Somerset. The role enables you a hybrid working opportunity of partly office based and partly remote from home based.

We are looking for an organised individual with previous legal experience, confident managing a busy workload in a fast-paced environment with the ability to use own initiative and work well under pressure. The working hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday - Friday (one hour lunch break). The annual salary is very competitive & circa £20,000 - £26,000 PA.

Our client are a leading and long-established law firm based in the heart of the Somerset countryside with a client list you would expect to see in the centre of a big city!

We are looking to appoint a Litigation Assistant / Fee Earner to join a busy litigation team, dealing with a wide range of contentious work. We are looking for someone who can operate with professionalism and expertise, as you will be liaising with both Clients and other professionals on a range of legal enquiries.  You will be able to independently establish priorities and manage deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for file handling across a range of litigation matters, with support from the wider team.
  • You will be expected to liaise with clients from the outset of their case through to conclusion and provide a professional and friendly service throughout.
  • Training can be provided and we are keen for you to develop a case load within an area that interests you.
  • Whilst you will be expected to run cases of your own, you will also assist in more complex cases where appropriate.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

  • You will have experience within a legal environment, ideally gained within a contentious role.  
  • You must be confident to work without direct supervision and be able to demonstrate organisational intelligence and communication skills.  
  • You will possess solid verbal and numerical skills, together with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Most importantly you will be a natural self-starter with the ability to be flexible and empathetic to deliver client needs.  
  • You will be keen to provide a high level of professional assistance and work with team members to provide clients with a high standard of service.
